TIBETAN HEALING CENTER RECEIVES PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD

San Diego County residents of Asian and Pacific Islander heritage for years have been accomplishing wondrous things for the community, but too often they have gone unrecognized. So in May 2004, the San Diego County Community was asked to submit nominees for the Asian Heritage Awards for Achievement and Community Service. A stellar slate of nominees were nominated and submitted for final voting; the response was overwhelming.

The Tibetan Healing Center is proud to announce winning the Asian Heritage Award for 2004 for Excellence in Health and Medicine. The award reads, "We honor these men, women and organizations who have dedicated their lives for the betterment of humanity and community. We honor their work and integrity, their embrace of cultural differences, their accomplishments and achievements and their inspiration to others. By promoting harmony and understanding, and empowering others to follow in their pursuit of worthwhile endeavors, we honor their contributions and their legacy."

The Tibetan Healing Center, the only center of its kind in the United States, works to integrate Tibetan medicine with the technologies of the West. Currently the healing center is under the direction of Medical Director Dr. Dhondup, who is conducting research on Multiple Sclerosis and other neurodegenerative disorders. Successful case studies are being conducted with prostate cancer, breast cancer, hepatitis C., hormone disorders, infertility, arthritis, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, thyroid disorders and other conditions.
